Question the Hammock and adjustable back rest mount

Ive read some older posts about the incompatibility.

I was wondering if anyone has recently tried the Hammock and Adjustable back rest on a Ultra Limited.

Is the last suggest fix; shim with washers, still the method used to correct the fit ?

Thanks alot !
Chris

I have the Hammock with HD back rest on a RGU same as an Ultra and it fits perfect.
Hammock seat is 100% compatible . The Super reach seat is not. Pictures if you like.

On my 2014 with latest version of the Hammock I used some washers for shims and the front bracket did not line up when I had the adjustable backrest lined up where I wanted it. I would say it works fine after you play with the mounting a bit, not really a big deal. I ended up installing a passenger grab rail, the adjustable backrest mount is very sturdy on top of this but the front mount did not line up, did not even use it. I modified the backrest so it sits lower.
Be aware some answers you get are from older bikes, and maybe they are not dealing with the "adjustable" backrest.

Just put an adjustable backrest on a 2016 Street Glide Special. works great. Hammock seat was bought in 2013, bought backrest from a friend, is from a 2011, I think. That bracket looks plenty tall when you bolt it on the fender, but there's a lot of room under that seat, I guess.

http://www.boardtrackerharleyonline....r-Touring-Seat
Is this the seat that those with 2014 and above tourer are having fit issues with ?

There are a few different part numbers. Just want to go armed with good info when I go to take to the parts folks.

Why don't you pick the seat you want to use then use that part number to ask in the "Rushmore" section?
Any Hammock seat that fits you bike should be able to use the adjustable back rest.

Before spend in over 1000 bucks on the seat and backrest. I'm trying to determine if people are having the issue with fit on all tourer years or is it; for instance, an issue with a particular model year/part number.

There are a few different part numbers listed based on model and selected options. I've used search to seek out this info and hav3 found many issues reported about the hammock and adjutable backrest but the problem is no one says I have model w using seat x using mount y with backrest z so that the picture is clear.
On top of that ... harley doesn't really say one way or the other in which case a backrest can be used only "backrest can be used on some model"

I'll put a little more time and head over to Rushmore to ask ... but if I can't get a solid answer and or fix, I'll may just do the Russell day long.

I have to go to the dealership to pick up my slip ons and armrests so I'll see what they have to say also.

I used a Hammock seat from a 13 model that is unheated on my 14 Limited. The 13 seats give a little more legroom than the 14 and newer models.

I used the adjustable backrest and put 1/4" bushings between the lower mounting bracket and frame to tilt the mount rearward. It gives a little more room and puts the mount centered in the seat slot.
