I live here in Ms and I won't even ride it for more than 30 miles. I just can't hold back and ride at 50mph and there's places on the top end of it that's 20mph.
Planning a four day excursion up and down the Natchez Trace with my wife next week. I've booked three B & Bs for Fri, Sat and Sun. Very excited about the trip.
Anyone who has made the trip, please share your favorite, but perhaps, not as well known, points of interest, places to eat, things to do, see etc.
Thanks.
never ridden it. want to. so, after you do, come back here and give the rest of us a ride report, and tell us where you got off and would recommend, or not.
Rode it once starting in Natchez. By the time our group got to Tupelo we were ready get off. If your into a slower pace and zero signs of commercialization then it's right up your alley. I understand the farther north you go the better it is. Of course the bicycle hordes like it too and that always fun on a two lane road.
Thanks for all of the comments. I'm surprised at the number of negative ones. We are still looking forward to it. I will report back next week.
Keep 'em coming.
It's all a matter of how you like to ride. Not negative so much as "I loved it" or "that type ride is not for me". I and the guys I ride with wouldn't enjoy cruising a road that is not a twisty, at just 50 or less MPH.
OTOH, if you and your wife can enjoy the laid back solitude, scenery, B&Bs, and food...then it sounds like the perfect couples ride.
Road the trace a couple of years ago from Natchez all the way to Nashville. Just be aware there are no gas stations along the trace and also no signs telling you where to get off and get gas. Pretty flat ride until you start getting into Tennessee.
