sell those mufflers on ebay and get yourself a set of Thundercone mufflers from the boys at Rich Products (Thunderheader guys). They are the best sounding muff I've ever heard on our touring bikes.
I know but I just dropped a wad of cash on my handle bar project. I did it myself so while the bike was apart, I did the Fullsac true dual and chromed the front end. The other factor was my bike was down for a month and I just got it back up last week. I will wait for the winter. Oh yeah, my wife said something about a radio last weekend (but I'm not complaining)

It's not hard at all but I would suggest 2 people. A HD tech gave me some good tips. Once you get every thing unbolted have someone hold the fender in place. Thenrotate the forks, out so only smooth sides are facing the fender. Lower the fender and move it out. You will need the tool to set the fork seals too. Also, make sure you have all your seals and rings in place before you start, or you get to make multiple trips to the dealer. (But we are on a 1st name basis now) Also don't forget your chrome spacers, chrome drain screws, chrome axle retainer nuts. I suggest a small funnel with a long spout to pour your fork oil (unless you want to take off your bars to pour in the oil.) Pour your fork oil very slow. (Make sure the drain scew is in 1st) Mine took 11.1 ounces. Don't wing your oil pour, measure it out first. Do one tube at a time. Oh snap the fender has this (I don't know what to call it) flat metal piece with the edges bent to cover two nuts so they won't back out. Be slow and tap lightly to straighten them to remove the nut. If careful they can be used (1 MORE TIME). Don't use locktite instead of putting that metal piece back on.
Sorry for the ramble.....Thinking as I type.
If using a chrome exchange, wash your new chrome sliders with soap and water and let dry.
It may sound like a lot but it really isn't. Just take your time and don't rush.

And don't put everything back together and notice you forgot to add the fork oil like I did. Got to take the nacelle off twice. 3 times if you count me not tightening the little strip on the nacelle tight enough. 4 times if you count me not reconnecting the not used toggle switch. But who's counting.
