I replaced the stock seat on my 07 RK with a Hammock. Made all the difference for me on longer rides. Can recommend it. Quality seat.

If I am putting around town by myself, I think the OEM seat looks better, I am lower to the ground and that is the one I install. I have gone to the beach which is 2 1/2 hours away with the OEM seat and don't "mind" it. But when on longer rides and any time I am 2-up, the Hammock goes on. Why? It is just that more comfortable.

Can't go wrong with the hammock seat on long rides. I use it two up for around town more often then my stock seat. A great test is ride your stock seat local for the day. Then change out to the hammock and take a spin. You'll be sold.

===================================

Had an ultimate seat on my prior R* 1700 v-twin metric cruiser & it was great, could ride for hrs with no butt burn.

Bought the ultimate for my 09 flhtcu & even though its designed and built approx same as their seat for the R* i had the Ultimate wasnt as near as good for me on my 09 flhtcu as it was for me on the R*,why that is i can't answer.

I test rode the Hammock by myself on my HD and it was very comfy for my butt ,it sat me up- approx an 1" higher and also set me back another 1-1.5" too which was an issue for me.

The 1-1.5" back further was an issue because it was just enough back that i had to reach for the bars which was uncomfortable after a while .

so if i wanted to buy the Hammock i'd either have to change bars or have the seat modded (if possible with the internal suspension system it has) @ MCC to move me back up 1" or so to get me back to a more comfy reach to the bars.

I already had MCC mody the stock seat which turned out great for the wife that said she loved it but for me it was better then stock but still isnt where it needs to be.

So plan for me is to call mmmc to see if they could mod it to move me forward 1-1.5" and if yes the cost.

Then if they can do that then i plan to try the hammock a 2nd time to see if the wifes like it more then the modded my mcc stock seat.

If she likes the hammock more then if mcc can mod it for me i will go with it.

But if the wife says the Hammock is approx the same or not as good for her as the moded stock is then i will send the seat back to MCC to mod the drive portion of the seat a 2nd time to make it more cushy/more forgiving & or comfy.

So i feel i am finally getting there when it comes to getting a seat dialed in thats good for long seat time for both the myself & the wife too.

Been thru stock a seat, ultimate seat,HD Sundowner ,stock seat modded by MCC & a Mustang Touring seat currently on the bike which has been the best seat overall for both me & the wife thus far with the modded by MCC stock seat being the best for her thus far and Mustang seat best for me thus far with the Wife saying the Mustang seat is still good & acceptable for her, but would be 2nd choice with yet for her to go for a test ride on Hammock.

If i find MCC can mod the hammock for me and with wife likes it best post test riding the Hammock seat thats the route i am going.

But if the wife doesnt like the hammock as much as the stock modded by MCC seat i will send it back to MCC for a 2nd time to have them add additional comfort/MEM-Foam for me butt to hopefully improve the seat situation enough for me to get it where it's best for both of us.

Then hopefully i finally be able to put the seat thing to rest for good!/LOL!!!

Then i will have to deal with trying to sell the Sundowner & Mustang seats that are in like new condition with the Mustang Touring seat being the best overall seat thus far and not bad,it was just not quite what i need esp with the sciatica & back issues i have that are hard to address & or improve in
my situation.

Just put a Hammock on my '16 King. World of difference for my back-seater and me. Loved it. It also took me up about an inch as everyone else seems to relate. That actually helped me see over the stock windshield. I can't stand looking through a motorcycle windshield.

As for moving me back an inch, I didn't seem to notice, however I'm a knuckledragger.

Get the seat. You'll like it. So will your significant other.

I had a Hammock heated seat on my RK. I loved it and I loved the heat. Heated seats are the best.

I put mine on in 2011, Bike has 45,000 miles since I added the seat. It still looks new. The only care I give it is I cover it with the one piece dual Harley seat and backrest cover when it rains.

Wife and I are on a to week ride now with the hammock seat we had just put on our 2016 RGU. 2000 miles into out ride. Wife is very happy. I also like the seat. At 5'7" the seat has not caused me any issues with footing. Nothing ugly about the seat, bike is for riding not profiling at the bar.
Right now pouring rain, sitting on the pouch watching it. I always enjoying riding this part of TN.
