Personally, I want as much light back there as possible, running and stopping. I'm currently researching led light strips to go across the top, back of the tour pak. Custom Dynamics make some that will do run/turn/brake and I think I'm going to make it do the flash when braking thing (just the strip, not all brake lights) to call attention to my stopping.
I've followed guys with the 3-5 flash then solid brake light and it really catches the eye.

Hey, cprhed, go to an AutoZone and look or ask for a "Doorman/Double
contact Lamp Connector", the part # is 85801. it's an internal light connector with 2 wires, and 2 little circle and a spring (as used in older cars). I think they go for about $3-5 bucks each? You might have to check a few stores or special order them. While your there buy new bulbs with the dual filament (#1157? sorry it's been a while) since you won't use the single filament lamps any longer. One wire will be for the run, the other wire will be brake and turn, the ground is in the connector. if your handy with a test light it's not that hard and way more cost effective than a few hundred bucks as quoted. Remove the single wire light wire connector and replace it with the new dual filament wire connector, locate the turn brake wire in the harness using the test lamp of course or check behind/at the connector for the brake light. you can also convert that rear fender light into a run/brake light with a 150ohm resistor and a diode.
Thanks all. I figured out what I needed. I was having trouble as most threads talk about converting to LED at the same time. I just want to make the turn signals and tourpak work the way they should without converting to LED.
