I have had the 2" B&E Superflows for the last 10,000 miles and love them. They are somewhat quiet until you get on the throttle and then they bark. I just ordered the B&E 2 1/4" looking for somewhat louder on idle sound.
I have a borrowed set of 2.25's on mine right now w/ the KlockWerks duals...
All I can say is....
I MISS MY FatCat!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a HUGE difference in low-end torque. But... that are quiet, if that's what you're after.... As slip-ons go, they are fine.... but I can now say that I AM A 2into1 guy TIL I DIE with not hesitation or reservation!
Besides... my bike looks f'ing STUPID (in a BAD way) with two mufflers pokin out the back!!!!!!!!!!! [:@]
You'll have to ignore Phil....the FATCAT guy you can't trust someone with 1 pipe on a bagger
I've been running the 2" superflows for at least 10,000 miles and they're just right for me....quiet, but nice rumble and I make good numbers with mine....
I like my 2" baffled B&E's..........replaced my Samson Rolling Thunders. As a comparison, the B&E mufflers are quiter......I can hear my engine noises at idle if I listen, and my radio at speed without crankin' the beeejeeeezuz out of the thing.....aftermarket speakers really help here. But they are a deep and mellow note until one gets on the throttle and they bark loud enough for most of us.
Phil's bike is a torque Monster.....and that FatCat does work. And ya know, it's pretty quiet at lower rpm's.....surprisingly so.
Awh Man...now after PhilM made the comment about duals looking stupid, I feel like less of a man..just kidding fellow Texan. There is a point about duals and less restrictive mufflers killing some low end tq. I have really not noticed too much after re-jetting my carb. I think it was kind of a wash. THe mufflers killed some and the carb update go it back up.
2-1s will give you an edge with a built up motor. B&E or other flow thru mufflers will give you a great sound, especially with true dual. You just gotta decide what you want.
I got 'em... a few folks have asked what I did to the mufflers... they seem to like the sound. Other than that, they work just fine with my true dual setup.
