Harley EVO was the best motor to date. The TC make more power, but will require me to open the cam chest twice a year to check cam chain tensioners. There's a reason Harley didn't put in timing gears.
I remember the shovel head days when folks rebuilt the motors every winter, transmissions every other winter, and hoped they could ride 20,000 miles that year without issues.
That's why I'd rather buy a 5+ year old bike and fix issues than have a 25-30k new bike I have to take to the dealer.
The difference between new Moto Guzzi's and new Harley's is parts availability. Both usually have issues to be addressed from the factory.

Maybe I was lucky, but I really liked my shovel heads.....
I got 65K on one shovel head with just a valve job @ 45K and I got 35K on another shovel head with nothing but oil/plug changes before it was stolen...
My EVO was trouble free... just maintenance
So far, both my TCs have been trouble free. I did change the tensioners on the '03 as a precaution, but when I went in the cam chest on both..... it was just for fun...
I am 65 year old and I have found only 2 things that stay constant in life no matter what. No Dead you can cheated and you can evade Taxes but what NEVER and I mean NEVER changes is STUPIDITY knows no color, religion or nationality and you CANNOT fix it.
