The battery tender cables aren't large enough to handle a jump start. The adapter is to put on the XP jumper cable so you can use the tender. No issues with polarity on mine.
I'm not trying to jump start with battery tender cables, The harness for the xp3 won't let the battery charge, with one I get a battery not connected signal and the other never goes from red to green. Somebody in this thread mentioned bad electronics in the cable and I'm calling Antigravity today and see what they say.

I have the MicroStart Antigravity XP-3 along with the XP to SAE adapter harness (MSA-10). Just in case anyone might care, this company has sent me 3 different adapter harnesses over the past 4 months and none of them will let 3 different brand battery maintainers charge the battery. It has something to do with the resister/diode on the positive cable not working with many different brands of battery maintainers.
This company is a fly by night company and if you ever need any warranty replacement items from them, be forewarned that they will yes you to death and keep saying the part will be shipped out, but that it will take another 4-5 phone calls to finally receive another faulty part.
Instead of wasting your money buying any of their products, shop for another brand, because to me this companies products/customer service are useless.

I have the same set up, Had a problem charging with a Battery Tender, one said not connected and other bike just never got a green light after 2 days. Never tried to jump start because I never had a dead battery but I didn't want to find out on the side of the road they didn't work Called them yesterday about the harnesses I bought off Amazon, Customer service asked for receipts and sent me warranty form to fill out. Sent it all in and had an email in 5 minutes. We will see how it goes but so far they seem to be easy to work with.
I have a NOCO portable battery jump starter and it took 3 tries to jump my bike. After my bike started, the cables were really hot. I couldn't imagine trying to jump start a bike with just a pigtail, those wires would have melted.

Good luck. They did the same thing with me regarding filling out the warranty form and having me actually take a photo of the adapter installed on my bike, however even after 2 replacement adapters, none of them would let the battery tender(s) charge the battery. Never got a green light that the battery was charged.
Their adapters are junk. Haven't tried it, but I do now wonder if even the XP-3 even works for a jump start? Don't feel like depleting the battery to find out.

I actually had to jump Honda Accord on Monday so I a least know the xp3 works. I had one on my BMW and only got flashing red which is battery not connected, on my Road King steady red after 2 days. I'll give them some time and post results.
I have my regular tender harness on the left where the MOCO put it, and the Antigravity harness on the right tucked inside the side cover.

That's exactly how I have mine setup. However, the Antigravity harness SAE adapter will not let a battery tender charge the battery. If I need it, I hope it still allows the XP-3 jump start the bike through their harness.
,,,,,,,,,,I have the XP-1. Same features as the XP-10 just with less cranking amps and less mAh. I got it off Amazon for $80.
X2
Size matters.
If being compact is important to you, the XP-1 is 3" shorter than the XP-10 and only 1" longer than all the smaller models. Both the 10 and the 1 have way more features and capacity than I'll ever need. Both will start your V8 Dodge Ram multiple times, never mind your motorcycle.
Consider getting the little Anti-Gravity air pump too. Its tiny, rattling around easily in the bottom of a swing arm bag, and of course, works off the XP battery not your bikes. 20 bux or so.

I received two pigtails from Antigravity yesterday as promised. Customer service was very easy to work with. I've decided not to use for battery charging, I'll just leave the battery tender pigtail charging.
