They do that to take the whole bag, not get inside. How do your locks stop that? On mine I replaced one pin on each side with a u-nut and bolt. 75 cent security kit.
They can do the same to get into the bag, steal the contents, and/or remove the bolt and steal the bag.
If you watch the video it clearly shows that the "security system" offered has nothing to do with the removal of the bags. It is designed ( at least as evidenced by the video ) to keep the tops locked and there is already a device in play that does that. As stated earlier, it appears to be redundant. Well in they want my stuff that bad, I guess I'm screwed either way. I got them bolted on and locked. If they are willing the break the lock they are willing to break the bag... Of course with the leather bags there are no locks and I have never had a problem with those either??? Charmed life I guess...

Larry , I don't see what is hard for you to understand . On 2013 and older bikes you have a tab on the back side of the lid that slides under the bracket and then you lock the bag on the front side . People put a screw driver into the bracket on the back side of the bag and pop the tab out . They are now into your bag and can take the contents or the bag . With the Brukus system the brackets on the back side of the bag that hold the lid on are removed , you don't need them , you have in their place a lock and strike plate on the inside of your bag so now it is impossible for them to get inside . While traveling Canada this summer with passports etc. in my bag I wanted to make sure no one could walk up with a screw driver and pop my lid . If you think your bags on older bikes are secure with Harley locks , you are wrong , I should have done a video before removing my old locks showing you how easy they are to get inside.
I like the feture that it converts my 2011 bags to open like the 2014+ (when you install the claw hinge) so I can open and close my bags at a stop light and not have to get off my bike to do it. The older bags just suck to open and close with one hand.
Yes, the saddlebags are different before and after 2014......and your lock works great for the newest ones....but i think everyone is asking....did you change the pins that go between the saddlebags and the bike....those pins are also essily removed with a screwdriver.....yes opening the top of the bags are a great deterrent BUT not if they can steal your whole bags........
I changed the pins and the lock , with the old style bags they can pop the pins with a screw driver and also pop the lid open with a screw driver , now they can't do either.

True, it does not help much if the thief takes your whole saddlebag that is why I ordered a security bolt kit from Brukus that replaces the spring pins to install when I install their security saddlebag kit.
