25k and comp might be going. not cool
My 07, 49k, can't remember about shavings. I changed out tensioner around 35k. I wonder if Harleys comp nut problem on post 07s, is due their design on primary tensioner. Seems the problems started with 6 speed and 96". Didn't need an IDS before. Maybe long stroke is effecting it, bored 95 is tried and true. 6 speeds have been around after market for years.
The design seems unable to release tension. I believe it is another Harley screw up that they won't admit to, so they screw the customer.

LOL!
Don't feel bad because the original stock compensator on my 09 flhtcu was shot @ only 9,700 miles, less then 1/2 the miles your bike has.
I replaced it with an SE comp kit along with GMR's Compensaver oiling tray thats specifically designed to provide additional oiling to the SE comp to hopefully extend it's srv'c life.
I have approx 10,500-11k miles on the SE comp thus far & its doing well .
Then the front wheel bearings were shot @ 12k miles.
Next at 12,500 miles EFI pins went bad due to " Fretting " requiring replacement in the EFI connector plug on throttle body which rendered the throttle unresponsive & motor would only idle.
Since approx 15k miles the IPB has been making a low lvl amount of noise when the bikes up to norm op temp which will require replacement in the not so distant future too.
But even though my bike seems to have ongoing mech issues the bike has the " SOLE " we all like about our HD's which is why i still like the bike .
