....... wildlife ..... the great unknown when riding in the Great Wide Open
.... buddy of mine was leading a group several weeks ago when he crested a hill at speed and found a small herd of Antelope crossing the road. As the next rider in line (his wife) commented later 'he mowed those antelope down like bowling pins' ....... 3 weeks later, he's still in a hospital in Grand Junction, having just recently been brought out of the medically induced coma they'd used to keep brain swelling down.
.... be vigilant out there, ya never know exactly what's on the other side of that next hill
.... prayers sent for the OPs friends .... and mine.

It was a truck, OP called it a bobtail, but it was a dump truck
it was a bobtail the impact took the front tire of the truck completely off
Until I read the article on the accident, I thought they hit an animal. I don't know what a bobtail is, other than a truck. the poster also thought it might have been an animal. was only trying to inform him
Just googled it, now I know. I call them box trucks
Wednesday we were heading out hiway 20 near willits when all of a sudden we hear a bang and pop. One of my dearest friends had hit a bobtail head on on a right curve. He did not make it but his wife is in the hospital with major injuries and many surgeries. we are all praying for her. please be safe

Thank you Harley Charley!!!! couldn't have said any better. Prayers and condolences are forthcoming. So sad to have a rider down and lost, and another injured.
