Yet again,here's a good reason to address the excessive heat stock & esp modded HD's generate esp in summer heat.
Here we go again!
Now thats summer is in full swing across the US this (Excessive heat) is something we are going to see posted here time after time with guys posting all sorts of heat related issues form degraded engine perf to heat related rider discomfort issues that can be significantly improved for those that have an open mind that will allow them to do so which isnt always the case.
Since you have already address the lean fuel calibration with auto tune thats a goiod starts ,but if your bike still has a cat gut that too.
Then do what i did to my bike that reduced oil temp 50 deg f in summer heat which made a significant improvement in engine perf & overall riding comfort which was i installed an Ultracool oil cooler with twin cooling fans (KEY TO MAX COOLING) along with Wards fans (Very Worth While Too) both @ the same time.
Doing just that to my 09 flhtcu with basically stockTC-96" resulted in the following:
* reduced oil temp 50deg f.
* cooling oil 50 deg f also reduces overall engine temp @ the same time too so there is a bit less heat hitting the riders making the bike more pleasurable to ride esp in summer heat.
* motor now maintains a solid 18psi @ idle & 45psi+ @ cruise (10-12psi higher!),oil pressure at all times in summer heat. Prior to cooling it was 7-8psi @ idle & 32-35psi ish @ cruise.
* valves / lifters remain quiet.
* motor now retains the pwr/trq & crisp throttle response it used to always loose in summer heat
* hot starts are easier/faster because motor/starter/battery are less heat soaked.
* no more detonation.
Bottom line is no matter what others may say that have never tried addressing heat issues on their HD like i did that i know from 1st exp doing it " any stock to modded air cooled hd " will significantly benefit from installing the 2 cooling mods i did on my HD that cooled oil 50deg f in summer heat .
Any stock or modded HD should obtain the same approx level (or close to it) of improvement in most if not all the areas my bike did post install of the same 2 cooling system mods as stated above.
And when talking an air cooled modded HD motor anything you do that will significantly reduce oil & engine temp will put the motor in a position to maintain more power & perf at all times along with also providing a bit cooler more comfy enjoyable bike to ride @ the same time too.

LOL,guys spend $1k+ for new ex only that may add 15-20hp & few ft lbs trq + - few along the way but dont think spedning $600

Not having that 1st hand exp doing it like i have is likely why you 7 many others posting here dont have a good understanding of just how much excessive heat has to do with significantly degrading /reducing engine perf & overall rider comfort on an air cooled hd in summer heat.
Tuning /remapping an hd fuel curve will only reduce engine temp a bit that may help reduce or stop detonation & add a few more ponies,end of story.
But adding the 2 cooling mods i did on my & rec others do to that reduce oil temp 50deg f sig reducing engine temp @ same time can not only stop detonation & give the motor back the pwr/trq & crisp throttle response it always losses in summer heat but it also make multiple improvements in engine & overall ridier comfort right off the bat too.
Anyone that knows truly anything about engine perf & has built perf motors weather it be stock or modded bike or car motors knows excessive heat kills perfs in many ways.
Than add to that when talking a lrg disp air cooled hd motor thats suffering significant performance degradation issues riding in excessive summer heat which no amount of fattening fuel map can come close to addressing when reducing oil temp 50deg f & engine temp reduction too like post installing the the 2 cooling mods did for my bike .
But i do rec all guys with newer bike with a cat to remove/gut it & at the very least install an adj enrichement device like nightriders adj resistors either before or along with installing the 2 cooling mods i rec.
How you guys can be so dang blind and or closed minded to that fact is beyond me especially since not one of you non believers have ever tried it but still know better which is total BS till you actually try it,end of story.

(But you need to keep in mind my bikes not modded being stock a 96" so it's not big on trq/pwr to begin with esp if your coming off a newer bike with a 103 or older modded 96" bike.)
GEESH!,maybe that will be enough to get the word out that i in fact i haven't been spewing BS trying to help all you " paranoid non believing types " to actually open your closed minds & eye's see the light that could lead to greatly improved overall engine perf & overall riding comfort too especially when riding your HD in summer heat./LOL!

Do you have non- manufacturer data to back this? Just to clear it up for us "paranoid, non-believing types" for some of us think endorsements for advertising products may be more motive.
Then I rode over to FM and had them install their cat-less ceramic coated headers, Woods TW-222 cams and put it on the dyno. Big difference in everything you'd expect to see a big difference in EXCEPT heat measured on the front cylinder. According to the PV, no change.
No fan. With my set up and what I see and feel from the bike, no need. No extra money spent on a fancier oil cooler. No need.
