Just installed (myself) some 1.25" Khrome Werks 10" Bobber Bagger Apes this past spring. Did the wiring internal with stock wiring...just some re-routing. Also was able to use the stock brake line with some re-routing. Could have used the stock clutch cable but it was tight and I wanted it routed through the hole in the inner fairing. Went +6 on the clutch cable...probably could have gone a little shorter. Plus, the Magnum Shielding Sterling Chromite II looks so much better.
I know I could have probably gone taller but I wanted to keep my hands more or less behind the fairing...early & late season riding can get chilly here in the north. I'm 6'2" but be careful going strictly by height. Two 6'2" individuals could be completely different on the bike...one being tall in the torso with shorter legs, the other shorter in the torso with long legs which will change your shoulder height & reach.
I'm extremely happy with my bars and how they turned out...comfortable & clean look. They are also wider than stock which I really like. Excuse all the sh*t in the garage...not so clean, but it's the only pic I had right now.
see pic below them are 10 inch wild ones.... and replace all the cables if you go above stock. this idea of not replacing cable is just stupid unless you don't wanna do it right but id think you would

And on the flip side, spending money that doesn't need to be spent is genius.
