So, I found several people that have done the mod and some that totally did away with the breather all together. The one's with no breather were mostly aftermarket but I did find a HD round SE also blocked off. These aftermarket bolted directly in place of where the stock hoses go by removing the hollow nippled bolts and replacing them with solid bolts. I cant see no venting at all, cannot be good for the engine but anyway, no one had any gripes of the way they set it up.
Having had the by-pass venting only maybe 100 miles before I went back, I noticed white oily gunk dripping out the end of the hose. Oily I understand but the white usually means water. The only water involved would be condensation on my non wethead. If this is what's been going into the engine it sure cant help anything out!
I believe you are mistaken about the solid bolts. Putting a solid bolt in the breather hole would cause multiple issues as soon as the bike was started. There would be oil sumping in the crankcase and the rocker gaskets would blow out for starters.

The dip stick would blow out first.

Not all air cleaners do a good job of Regurgitating back into the intake air stream, the S&S Tear Drop rates up there with the worst, the crap just drips down to the bottom of the filter. Harley cleaners are great Regurgitaters. FWIW, the 14 service manual no longer makes mention of Umbrella valve flutter. I vent to the ground and mostly see condensation but get snot on occasion.

Yeah , it'll start smoking like a bbq if put solid bolts in or mix up the 2 different types of breather bolts and put the wrong type of vented bolts in.

Depends on year the OP has 14. I believe his dipstick is threaded it might hold on for a few strokes

Ultralimited that is the exact gunk I have seen.

The bolts I observed were directly bolted in the stock location so if there is another way or trick to it they did a good job of hiding it.
I seriously dought so much pressure would build up to blow anything apart. Back in the early 70's I installed valve covers on my 350 chevy doing away with any venting and nothing ever blew up, but back then, I didn't know better anyway.

Well your misinformed on this one.

1ST IS venting oil soaked crankcase combustion gases was never routed into the intake of internal combustion engines to increase perf etc,it was done mainly for EPA & emission reg's ans thats it.

Sucking in overheated combustion gases soaked with hot oil mist from the crankcase in fact causes multiple runability issues with some affecting the motor right off the bat and others as time/miles go by which to name a few are:

* LOSS OF POWER & TRQ DUE TO THE MOTOR SUCKING IN A PREHEATED OIL IST SOAKED INTAKE CHARGE FROM THE CRANKCASE VENT.

* THE HOT OIL MIST CRANKCASE GASES ALSO CAUSES EXCESSIVE CARBON BUILDUP ON PISTONS & VALVES (ESP BACKSIDE OF INTAKE!) IN COMBUSTION CHAMBERS THAT OVER NOT THAT MANY MILES CAN THE MILES INCREASES COMPRESSION A BIT.

* THEN DUE TO THE ADDITIONAL CARBON BUILDUP IN COMBUSTION CHAMBERS CAN INCREASE THE MOTORS OCTANE REQUIREMENT LEADING TO IN SOME CASES DETONATION AND MAYBE BIT HOTTER RUNNING MOTOR TOO.

* AND PUTTING INCREASED COMPRESSION ASIDE FOR A MOMENT ANOTHER THING THAT ALSO HAPPENS IS WHERE THERE'S EXCESSIVE CARBON BUILDUP THAT ARE THE HIGHER SPOTS / HIGHER POINTS OF CARBON ON TOP OF THE PISTONS THAT ARE SUPPER HEATED GLOWING BIRGHT RED TO WHITE COND WHICH ALSO CASES ISSUES WITH PRE-IGN & OR DETONATION TOO.

* PREMATURE BUILDUP OF OIL & DIRT NOT ONLY ON THE THROTTLE BLADE IN THE THROTTLE BODY & INTAKE BUT ALSO OIL ETC IN THE AIR FILTER ITSELF TOO.

AND YOU THINK ALL THE ABOVE STATED ISSUES ARE JUST A BUNCH OF NON EXISTING HYPE WHICH THAT COULDN'T BE FURTHER FROM THE CASE.

Anyone that builds motors (esp higher perf lvl) knows a preheated intake charge of hot oil mist from the crankcase going thru the intake & motor degrades perf right off the bat like loosing a bit of prw/trq along with also causing other longer term issues like excessive carbon buildup , detonation etc too.

Happy motoring.

Scott
I've run my own forum idea
.Oily air filter problem solved Air filter vacuum chamber with drain solenoid. I built some ugly prototypes to see if they worked. I got feedback about the looks and size. I made larger and I think better looking chambers and ran on both bikes and got like 10 thousand miles between both bikes and they run great with no crap in the intake
I changed the oil and looked good. I'm in the process of making a hidden tank running tight behind engine picking up good heat to cook off moisture. People seem to think its overboard but I can build one of these in my garage in a day. I did get some good input, I appreciate

I suppose you have all vehicles 100% stock? Do you ever speed?
Some of the EPA rules are crazy and slow to change. I have a diesel truck with a programmer that was not legal in CA for many years. My truck runs cleaner and gets better mileage than stock. It was just made legal last year.
Just because the government says it doesn’t make it right.
