Glad you are ok - I was forced off the road (driver did not stop) on May 28. Still in my sling after a plate and 8 shoulder screws. I was really glad to be on a faring bike - between the faring and the engine guards I think I avoided my serious injury
If you have not settled with insurance yet make sure to provide them with a list of any personal items you may still have on the bike. I did and even still when I went to the salvage yard a guy watched me like a hawk to be sure I did not grab anything not on the list.
I have a nice 2010 now sitting in the garage on a tender waiting on the day I can ride it....

So glad the wounds you have that look like they hurt plenty at this time arent life threatening & can heal to ride once again.
Like already stated by someone in this post the person that hit you was very likely distracted by their cell phone/txtn'g & or infotainment panel in the vehicle that hit you from behind.
Good luck & let us know how you make out with your recovery,what the insurance co says about your current bike & then after that what direction your going when it comes to the bike,totaled & buy back to fix or letting it go and getting a replacement bike,etc.
