I got a new 2016 Ultra and am considering a detachable tour-pak kit. If I do, I want to use a light bar on the rear for turn and brake signals. Has anyone done this? Can I just plug it in somewhere, or do I need to worry about the CAN-BUS? It is off of aa 2015 Road-Glide (will attempt to attach a pic).
Can bus is '14 up. Little difference tween ultra and street glide. check out the wire diagrams and part book of each. May need a harness and/or modual? Fender may also be different??

The can bus should recognize the RG taillights, they're both can bus lights. You will have to run the flashers for a couple of minutes to adjust the can bus. This will stop the fast flash on the turn indicators.
The fenders are different, there is no indentation in the ultra fender to accomodate that light. People that have done that mod usually put a SG fender on the Ultra.
Kury, HD and Custom Dynamics all make lights that will fit in oval holes between the fender and saddlebags on the Ultra. CD's work great and bright as the sun.
I put a sg fender and light bar on my UC , bought the rear harness for a sg 28.00 from boardtrackerharleyonline . Pretty much plug and play ,if you can find a color matched rear fender.

Thanks, just what I needed to know. I was hoping to use the light bar and relocate the license plate & light at the same time, but I am also considering the ones between fender & saddlebags. Am not going to replace the fender.
