Hello everyone im new to this forum. Let me say ive went from riding sportbikes all my life to owning a harley electic glide ultra classic. Big big difference lol. My question is what kind of performance parts can i do to this bike. The bike is a 2006 electric glide ultra classic. Now here is the kicker it has 100,000 miles on it supposbly the top end was rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago. i want to do some performace upgrades on it but dont want to kill it being it has high mileage on it. Any help would be appreciated... THANKS

every upgrade will expose the next weakest link. but 06 responds well to intake exhaust cams and a tune. depending on your riding style and cam choice, gearing changes can help a lot as well. then it into bigger$ for increasing cubic inches and heads and compression. with 100,000 miles i would ride it as is and bank some$ look at a aftermarket monster motor. a complete rebuild including the bottom end gets pricey.
No matter what you do to the Electra Glide, it's never going to come anywhere near the performance to which you're accustomed, coming from the sport bike arena.
I think the most important thing you can do is to check the cam chain tensioners. They're a likely point of failure on a bike with a TC88 engine and that mileage. Perhaps this is an issue the previous owner has already taken care of.
As mentioned above, check the belt and rear sprocket for wear.
Welcome from the great Mid-west. You just have to remember that with a 900# touring bike, the words performance mods are always used in the same sentence with a little bit of trepidation.
welcome from south carolina. I did same thing, coming from a zx 12. Forget the sportbike mindset and enjoy the cruiser. I still want it to go but I have to remember it don't lean and it don't stop. See I am learning, almost the hard way, a couple of times. but nonetheless. enjoy
