I like the looks of that one. Any reason you went with lrs over the others?
Yes, Several other riders I know had purchased LRS, one for a Road Glide Ultra, one for a Street Glide Special and one for a Road King Police. All were heavy, but no distortions looking through their shields when sitting on their seats. That is how I also decided that the light tint was enough. One had the dark tint and even with LED lights, he could not see the road at night. My street glide shield is also light tint, plenty dark.
I never saw of tried the others. Just went with what I knew worked and they had a great discount going when I bought it.
Added, oh I called LRS and I forget who I talked with, but he was real helpful about which shield and tint.
I'm getting quite a collection of shields in the garage :-)
I picked up both the 16 and 18" LRS during a winter sale at rediculous prices and found the 16 a little too short and the 18 almost perfect for my 5'7" body. They're actually 1/2" shorter than listed but they work well and the quality is great.
I also have the HD 18" shield that's a little wider and also works great, while still letting me see over it. Again just a hair shorter would be perfect - so many Im fooling around cutting down the original 1/2" or so at a time. I'm at 17.25 now and may go a little less....or may leave it alone.
It's hard to draw the line at what's optimum until you go too far. :-)
I have the Clearview Recurve. I don't remember the height, but I look over the top of it. The recurve throws the air over my head. I like it a lot. Of course changing over from my really beat up stock one helped a lot.
I'm 5'7" and have the Clear View 15-inch shield, recurve, dark smoke, with vent, and I LOVE IT!!!! It really does flip the air over my head, and the vent relieves the back-pressure as well as provides air conditioning on hot days.
