Default Vent Doors

I just take the vent doors off in the spring and reattach them in the fall...Keeps my feet and legs drier in the rain.

Yes, mine are vented and I take them off, with my windshield. All this talk about leaving them on and "wind management", I just ride fast and "manage" staying on the bike with all that wind! LOL (backrest helps), just spit out the bugs except the juicy ones.

They make a big difference. I friend dropped by last weekend to look at my newly purchased 07 RK. I gave him the keys (FOB) and followed him on his Ultra. After 20 minutes of heat while on the highway, I was ready to get back on my RK. For five minutes worth of effort, I would take them off. If I were traveling for several days, I would likely put them back on for rain. But I would check the forecast first.

^^^, that is where it would be nice to have an extra set of soft lowers to tuck in your bag. If only they made a folding windshield like The Batman had with his shield he kept in his utility belt....

Yes mine are vented. I also took just the vent doors off but not orth the effort to gain minimal air. If. Am traveling/touring I leave them on. If I am going to a destination where I will have a home base for a few days I have on till I get there then take them off. 5 min job with quick disconnect/ 15-20 with standard.

I take mine off in summer and put them back on in the fall. If you have cat's in your pipes it gets way too hot with the lowers on in the summer.

Intense heat is short lived in northern Illinois. No need to remove lowers.
