Installed new style Screamin Eagle Compensator last April and it's done! Notice a slight banging noise at idle and hard vibration when riding steady speeds. Pulled compensator and found galling on the compensator lobes and landing area, as well found a good wear indentation on the landing areas.
Called Harley customer service to see if there was anything they could do for me = nope
Anyone tried the Baker Compensator? What's your opinion?
There just isn't much, if any feedback on the newest Baker compensator. I have been looking for several months now. If they were selling a bunch of these surely we would have heard something positive or negative. At this point I can only conclude that they are not selling enough of them to get an accurate representation of performance.
Most riders have been withholding judgment until they have 10-20k on it to compare it to their previous Harley units.
You might try a search in the Primary/Transmission/Driveline/Clutch section of the forum.
Except for a few problems with the spring pack in an early release (and I believe I have one from that release) I have heard very few dissatisfied customers. Baker reportedly addressed the problem quickly.
I have put about 7k miles on mine, and I have been running it (uncharacteristic for me) really hard during those miles. Nothing jerky about it, smooth as silk, but I did stretch the chain a bit.
So far, I am quite happy with it.

Only sold a couple thousand in the last year, as for feedback I'll leave that up to the customers.
Id rather buy from a vender that stands behind their product and who is willing to take in their customers input to make product changes to make their product work as advertised unlike the SE comps.

I refuse to believe that these comps just fall apart on their own. Otherwise they would ALL do it. There is a cause, the failed compensator is the effect.
