for an air cleaner the value leader is the ness big sucker- it flows more air than your motor could ever demand and has a washable oiled filter media similar to but not K&N brand.

get the chrome backing plate version as that best complements your motor- ebay easternpc about $120

I'm also in the market for a tuner as well and I recall browsing the forums a while back someone had mentioned a device that didn't need to be constantly recalibrated and that it did all of the recalibration on the fly. Anyone know which tuner this is?

there are a number which meet your description- the o2 sensor tells the computer if the mixture is too rich or too lean in real time- and the computer will adjust for the best burn.

as above, the results good or bad ( and there can be negative results!) depend on the person or persons determining the settings or program.

these settings are entered based on the modifications the owner is doing and in most cases work or are close.

I ran 5 years on nightrider.com xieds ( $120) on my stage 1 09.
I have been screwing around with another device the last while- it is a popular piggyback tuner.
so far I am dealing with backfres and sluggish acceleration and pops and hesitations - as the manufacturers tech tells me which "mystery numbers" to alter- and each of the above problems appears, worsens, dissappears...but something is always not quite right.
the manufacturer is not always forthcoming as to which parameter is being adjusted.

I'm an ASE trained tech and have a pretty good understanding of how this all works, and I am going through this for "fun" and to learn something.
but for my needs the xieds worked just fine and will be going back on- which takes 5 minutes

You will determine best your budget and needs- and then you can look for the device which will meet your needs- fuel moto does provide good customer support for the stuff they sell.

but alot of riders spend more than they have to for a device they don;t understand which doesn;t provide any more back for the buck than xieds

This is second bike I've used the FP3 on. No complaints so far.
