Default What's causing my poor fuel mileage

Hello everyone,
I have a 2014 SGS and I'm getting 32-35 mpg. When the bike was new I would get around 40-45. I have done several modifications to the bike over the past couple of years and must have screwed something or a couple of little things up along the way? Or maybe something is broken? I don't think it's a result of any of the following modifications, tune, ect. But I could be wrong. I'm thinking something needs to be adjusted. Below I have listed pretty much everything that's been done to the bike and in the order it was done. Hopefully this will help shed some light on what's causing my problem.

-1st set of mods
PC5 2-1-2 headpipe
This is when I started noticing a drop.

-2nd set of mods
Ohlins 35mm cartridges and rear shocks
No change

-3rd set
Power vision w/ TT
No change, maybe worse

-4th
Amp, Speakers and a line leveler.

-5th
Baker Attitude adjuster
No change

-6th
FM 107
2-1 exhaust
No real change noticed so far.

There seemed to be a pretty dramatic drop when I installed the PC5 and then it's gradually gotten worse. Maybe a coincidence? I rode 2500 miles on a trip in April and riding side by side with my buddy on an 04 RG with a "95 he got 45-50 mpg and I was getting 35mpg. I called FM to see if it could be something with the tune and said its not the tune and for some reason the bike is demanding more fuel. Since then I installed the attitude adjuster and checked my belt tension. No change noticed. I also installed the 107 and got it dyno tuned. And still no real change. When I push the bike around it doesn't feel like there's an abnormal amount of rolling resistance but maybe that sort of thing is hard to feel. Tire pressures are good. I'm really at a loss here and would appreciate any advice or input.

I did before I went to the 107 and it didn't seem to make much of a difference. After I did the 107 it was tuned on a dyno so I wouldn't think I'd need to.

Call fm and ask them for a new map for your 107 kit. Then autotune. 9 is way to rich imo.

What's causing my poor fuel mileage-photo403.jpg

Here is the before and after pulls when I had the bike dyno'd. Red is a base map from FM and blue is after bob at RC cycles tuned it on his dyno. I'll give them both a call tomorrow and see what they say.

I'm hesitant to go back with a canned map because it didn't really run that well and as you can see there a big dip in the in tq.

Bob also had a really hard time getting my PV to attach to his computer. He cussed dynojet and target tune saying target tune is monkey motion. Maybe he's right? I'm not a tuner so I really have no idea. For the first half of the session he used auto tune on the PV to do the tune. Then he finally got my PV connected to his computer and finished the adjustments on there. He cussed dynojet and target tune the entire time I was there. I felt like he was rushed because the issues we had in the beginning but in the end the bike ran a lot better and the numbers are close to advertised numbers from FM.

I'm no professional either. But you should at least be getting 40 mpg while cruising. Unless your drag racing from every stop sign or light. But I'm guilty of twisting the throttle from time to time...

amazed how taking slow open roads can push my mileage to its upper limits.

often over looked is the fuel pump going bad and heating up the fuel.

I agree. Im defiantly guilty of riding a little aggressive but not all the time and no matter how I ride my mileage is poor.
