I got a set of Freedom Wingshttp://www.freedom-wings.com/index.html and mounted them today, the fit on my 06 Ultra is horrible. I have seen them mounted on others and they fit the contour of the bat wing and close all the way, these don't. Anybody else had this problem?
To late to contact the manufacture so I thought I would tap into this brain trust.
Also, I know about Dragon Wings, but don't like the look, so no need to try and steer me that way.
Depends on what your expectation is for a fit I guess. Mine don't fit 100% flush, with just a very slight gap at certain areas along the outline, but they fit well enough. I really like mine.
Mine won't even close to a straight up and down position they hit the forward portion of the fairing, leaving them at an angle with gaps on both ends. Maybe I expect too much
You adjust them before you tighten the screws. I have put on two sets with no problems. You close the with the screws slightly loose unil the fit the contour. Then tighten the scews.
I have the Freedom Wings on my 06 Ultra and the fit / appearance is great! I could not believe how much air is re-directed onto me when the wings are open. At 60 mph had to close them down a little. The install took about 10 minutes. Pull the wing away from the fairing while tightening the bolts and they will close up against the fairing almost without a gap (tiny gap at top and bottom).
