I have used my CB a lot...has come in handy on the interstate a few times. We use it in our riding club a lot. Could I live without it, sure, I probably would use a SENA

If multi-bike comm is what you're after there are very good Bluetooth units out there that are capable and the bonus is that you don't have a leash tied from your console to your helmet.

I've seen some units that can pair up to 15 riders on the same network. You have access to phone, music and navigation from your smartphone as well.

Wife and I use the CB all the time when traveling. Also use it on all group rides we take.

Yeah, what he said. I group ride 1-2 times a week with my HOG chapter and the CB is used regularly by the groups lead bike.

But if you want to use voice commands don't you still need the leash? Then you would have the leash AND the BT headset.

Speaking of headsets.... I take it the Limiteds no longer come with one either?

Problem I've heard with those Sena or whatever brand bluetooth helmet comms is that they drop connection worse than any cell phone. They are always tapping in to try and reconnect with each other. I'll stick with the CB.

Default CB vs Bluetooth headsets

First off what was harley thinking, the CB has been on the Ultra's forever and have been factored into the cost of the bike so why take it off now. Now they are gonna start nickel and diming us to get back the things you used to get as standard options. I think a lot of HOG chapter members are not gonna be happy.

So CB vs Bluetooth, CBs are used for large groups where the lead can communicate with the sweep and any other road captains in the group. The sweep can let the lead guy know that the group got separated or if someone is having problems and needs the group to pull over. When you are leading a group of 12 or more bikes it gets very difficult to see the sweep. Bluetooth headsets only can connect 3 or 4 bikes and the range is not nearly as long as CBs can reach. If you only ride with a couple friends then the Bluetooth option is doable.
