And I could be mistaken on manual instructions for an 06, mine is a junky *** '13 model so that's all I've worked on. That gap might be there on an 06? As far as a wobble goes an "advanced search" will blow your hair back on that subject.

For an 08, the manual specifies no gap between fork/retainer and spacer.

Just looked at my '06-that's the axle 'step' showing between the fork and the spacer.Nothing wrong there. But that lower retainer sure looks backward.

Cool. Be sure you tighten the correct nut first and then the other. (really should use a torque wrench on those)

Agreed about the gap-it's really a gap between the spacer and the fork. The spacer is tight against the bearing on the wheel side and against the axle shoulder on the fork side.
