This is normal. More informed than salesman is scary.

Personally, I seldom let a salesman, parts guy or service guy know exactly how much I know. I don't play dumb, just keep what I know to myself. If they start talking too much BS or out right lie then I walk away. I find most salesmen, once they realize you know more than they do, start to becoming defensive and unhelpful. And service people just tend to dig in once they figure it out.
I can only imagine how much worse it is in a small town with only one dealer.

Right on dude! I treat pretty much everyone I meet with this same philosophy.

Now, as far as sharing knowledge on the internet, well I'm the smartest guy on the forum

There is a MoCo sponsored ''How was your dealership experience today'' thing happening right now.

Something about call the number or click the link and let someone know how your experience was today kinda questionnaire.

Personally I dont waste my time anymore cause it is used more for marketing evaluations than anything to resolve an issue a customer has.

4 hours is a pretty good ride, but a long haul if the bike is in a trailer.

Prince George BC ???

I'll ride to Chilliwack before dealing with the ones closest to me my self.

I know what you mean.

If nothing else, the dealership 4 hours away sounds like a good excuse for a road trip.

I always try to start out that way but when they are so full of BS it's hard not to call them on it. Definitely don't try to out smart the parts guy. You'll wait an extra week to get what you want.

Probably good to remember that you groom people on how you want to be treated - drop him like a bag of dirt!

There's more than one sales guy there right? The sales manager usually sells the bikes as well in a smaller dealer. They're usually up on there products more so than the others. I'd work with him.
