Installed a screaming eagle comp on my 2013 FLTRU after 40000 + miles . After 1000 miles as noisy on startups as one I took out. opened up and checked everything looks to be correct After $300 bucks spent disappointed to say least.

Did your kit (I'm not being stupid here) come with 4 or five discs? Also, are you using a hayden or baker tensioner? Did you install it yourself (which would be a good thing)...

torqued mine to 175 and its holding strong... i think a lot of people have uncalibrated torque wrenches.

Or they use an Air Impact Gun...
Three foot Jeebus Bar comes in handy getting thing on there tight too.

Agreed! Of all the torquing that I've done on my bike, that one is without a doubt the toughest. I went over 175; how much I don't know, but I damn near popped my peter doing it. Holding strong though.

The 9/16 bolt is right at it's limit at 175... Why torque it to 200?

Does the procedure quiet the knock or is it simply to keep the bolt from coming loose?

Just curious..

I've played with the comps a little and only run them at 145 but that's without the patch and everything clean. They don't come loose..
