If you have time, go to a local chopper shop who does some fabricating and have them measure you for your most comfortable riding position which will give you the rise and pullback you want.I'm getting some 16"s with 5" on the pullback. This set up,is dead on comfort for me.i'm 5'8 and my finger tips reach the top of my knees when i'm standing.just to give you reference.
I loved gmoney's bars also. I even checked out the site. El Pitts makes some bad @ss stuff, and seems like a down to earth guy (from what I saw of him on TV). As for me, I went with the same ol', same ol'. Except I went with a 18" bar. I am 6'1" and weigh 350 lbs. These bars fit me great, and I have no problem with them while riding, at any speed. Took a short time to get use to it, but I will never go back now. Apes aren't for everyone...only those who have tried them. You wont be sorry. Also, check out ebay. Search under 'ape hanger'. There are a few bars on there that are the 'different' look that youare looking for. Good luck, and get those arms in the air, it is worth it!
I didn't want the same ole same ole either, so I found a post where Gmoney talked about his bars and gave them a call. After he quoted me a price that didn't include shipping, I passed out. When I woke up, the same ole, same ole was on my bike.
GMoney is the man!
I am very interested in some apes also on my bike, my problem is I cannot figure out what exactly I need and a round about figure of the price... everytime I ask I get told 2,000$ something about that doesn\\;t sound right at all.. ther BARS are cheap, wires a bit expesive.. but not 2000 dollars expensive.. there is a guy down here in Pompano Beach, that sells a 18" apehanger kit for the road king, bars, chrome controls, internal wiring, and chrome housings w/ switches for $379. I dont know.. I am sure I can put these on myself I would think. a little help here would be nice
