Default A couple clutch questions

Hey guys ,just a few questions I bought my '12 UC with 6,000 miles last December . The clutch felt a little odd so after a little while I got around to changing the primary oil and adjusted the clutch. Everything was good for a while, now 3,000 miles later I was adjusting the cable which I thought was a little soon and I am out of adjustment .It just seems weird to me that the cable needed adjusted again so soon and now there isn't any more adjustment. So is this normal or do I need to investigate. Thanks

The clutch has 2 adjustment points. 1 is under the derby cover and the other is the cable. You first need to adjust the clutch beneath the derby cover and then at the cable.

Follow the instructions in the sticky under the clutch section.

The cable adjustment does not impact the actual clutch.

Always... or you can really screw things up!!

Adjust the clutch on a stone cold engine. Heat in the clutch pack does affect adjustment. I usually go 1/2 to 3/4 turn out from slight pressure on the rod (adjustment screw).

Read this thread, it helped me and others get some more adjustment in my cable.

If you followed the instructions, and you're out of adjustment threads check your cable. But I think you did something wrong.
Loosen cable adjuster
Adjust clutch pack
Adjust cable
Tighten adjuster
