Default Items needed for Tour Pak

Ok, so I got another bonus this quarter (yeah!), and decided to get a Tour Pak. I'm going to purchase everything from either Chicago HD or Zanotti's (probably Chicago, about $60 cheaper), but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. So far I have the following items:

Tour Pak - Vivid Black53116-97DH
Comfort Stitch Backrest Pad 52395-03
Detachable Docking Kit 53804-06
Detachable Two Up Rack 53276-04
Tour Pak Liner Kit 53301-06
Detach Locks for TP/Sissy Bar46106-00

The first four are required, second two optional items. The one thing I haven't been able to find is the actual lock for the Tour Pak itself. Is there an actual part number for that, or is that included with the main Tour Pak itself? And is there anything else I might be missing?

You have to order the lock by giving your vin number, then it comes keyed to your bike keys.

If you buy a sissy bar setup you will need both docking kits, front and rear and Depending on what bike you have may need antena relocation kit.

We purchased an toupack recently and had it painted to match our bike. You can order a lock assembly keyed to your bike (supply the VIN) through a HD dealer for $20. Ours came with 4 keys. Some other options you may want to consider is the leather storage bag that goes inside the trunk for paperwork and such, we use a zipup bank bag about the same size but we dont care what other people think. We also purchased a lid organizer that comes in really handy for smaller items that may get lost in the clutter. You will be suprprised how much extra you leave in the tourpak all the ime, cameras, vests, dorags, maps, sunglasses, sunscreen.

Actually I already have the detachable sissy bar, so I know I need a newdocking kit. It was really the Tour Pak key I was trying to figure out. Already have an internal fairing antenna too, so that part I won't have to worry about!

look on you ignition key...remove the plastic sleeve.
There is a number etched on the key...usually 4 digits. No need to give the VIN.
Tell the dealer the number and you need a lock for the tour pak.
It will take a week or so and about 30$. I had to order a new one for mine a couple weeks ago.

Oh yea,, get the inner pouch. It is goot to hold the owners manual, maps, extra fuses, etc. I think that is only available if you get a Ultra styl pak with the rear tail lights as the pouch is secured by the tail lights bolts.
Might want to consider the George Anderson tour pak relocator. https://www.hdforums.com/m_1406319/tm.htm

ummmmmmm, are you telling me all I need to do is find a HD I like, get the VIN # off the sticker, then go to the dealer and order a key for it? Hope no one takes a shine to my bike.

the VIN number is a mis conception.
You must use the number on the actual key.
Take my bike for example...I have changed over the years...all the lock, ignition. the VIN would bring back the wrong key number.

Cryptoboy: HD has a brand new version of the tour pak liner you listed. It is identical but better for TP's that don't have the Ultra light bar since the newer version isn't molded to accommodate the light sockets. It's HD part no. 53302-07, lists for $74.95 and here's a link to it:

I had to show proof of ownership/registration to buy a replacement key. Its not that easy.
