I still love everything about my '09 and I don't drool over every new bike that comes along. No vehicle is ever bought as an investment unless it's already a collectable. It's like a computer. The only one to buy is the one that hasn't come out yet.
I have felt for awhile Harley had to compete with Indian somehow as their bikes are pretty powerful and smooth. Sure enough this was the year. Was getting Leary on how low they were getting on price.
Always find that interesting I wonder what the real facts are. If I was betting Indian is not that much pressure on Harley. I can ride around for a week and never see an Indian on the road.
HD has been selling traded bikes over seas for years nothing new there. You 2013 is 4 years old not worthless you just are not going to get what you paid for it. As for the extra you know they are worthless when you sell or trade in fact some times they lower it.
Traded my 2013 last year with a lot of miles on it got a fair deal out of it. The 90's were over along time ago real world returned.
I just may trade my 2016 for a 2017 . Motorcycle is an addiction for me, entertainment, a part of my world. Things we enjoy some times have a cost.
Glad I didn't get suckered into buying a 2016. Prices on all the Harley touring bikes are low as hell. I was looking to see what mine was worth a 2013 Ultra Limited with quite a few extras , 14,000 was top, Kelly blue book is going to list all the pre 8 valve Harleys a lot lower than that in December when the new quarter starts. Local dealer taking in so many trades they are turning them over to a whole sale dealer in Texas. No body wants them. They have plenty for sale on their lot. Sucks.
You think your pissed, try owning a Rushmore. I was offered 14K (down from 18k 2 weeks before the M8 was released) for a 2014 Ultra Limited with 8k in goodies and 13k miles. Perfect condition.
Doesn't matter what my RGU is worth today. It'll be worth almost nothing when I decide to let her go. Unless there's a lotto win in my future, this my be my last big bike.

I dont see a problem here, you are upset cause your bike is worth less today then it did some time ago?
chicken little, the sky is not falling. your bike is not 'worthless'. are shovelheads worthless? evos? sure, your value may have taken a little dip, but (imo) it will stablilize. like mentioned, you bought your bike to ride. since the m8s have been released, does your bike suddenly ride worse than it did?
I bought the 7 year esp with my bike. I plan on keeping it at least that long, then i'll either trade on something new, or look for a used m8 at that time. I rode one, it was a nice ride, but not so nice that I suddenly am willing to take on another note to get one.
I'm curious as to why your brother would have been "suckered" had he bought the '16 RG? I thought it was "gorgeous" and that they throw a ton of extras in to try and close the deal? Is it that the '16 RG is actually crap? Is it because the '17 is light years better?
Wait...... WhAT? Lol. Maybe you canucks no speaka dah English. I'm not sure I could have been any more clear that I completely disagree with the OP, that my brother got a spectacular deal on a supurb motorcycle he loves, an He didn't pass, he BOUGHT IT. It's in his garage and will ride the holy bejesus out of it till he trades it in in 2-3 years on another one.
Try to keep up Son.
Edit: It's actually not in the garage, it's in the parking lot, sitting two bikes away from my Road King.
