I went from a 500 to a RJ Platinum. It is bigger (but I don't think too big) but addresses the 500's short comings. Light, well ventilated, liner comes out for cleaning. Great option if you are looking for 3/4.

For modular I like the Schuberth C3 Pro (con:$$$$)
Funny, I have both the RJ Platinum and the Bell 500 and I feel the RJ is hotter, heavier and is affected more by the wind. Hey, thats why they make many different types and styles of helmet I guess.

Those are mostly Outlaw helmets. Way better deals on those at Leatherup: http://www.leatherup.com/c/Outlaw-Helmets/2/131.html

They might have the bobble head but it's the best most quiet and comfortable helmet I have ever owned and I really don't give a **** what people think about the way I look while I'm riding. Well maybe a little....lol

Might have to ride into a store/dealer that sells helmets and give 'em a try to give you an idea on how they really look. Some will fit you better than others. A non-HD dealer might have a better selection.

I have one that is advertised as "smallest legal" I will check the brand when I get home.
But it SUCKS in the comfort department.
I ordered it earlier this year and took a couple decent trips, WA is a helmet state I got to wear it for long periods
It's ok in town and for short trips, past that no thanks.
So I will be getting another one before next summer.

Another vote for the Bell 500. I DID find the forehead piece a LITTLE too tight, but, after kneading it for a few minutes, several times, that issue went away. As it does with continued use as well. Great helmet, not too big, very comfy for me.

I have also had good luck with the Bell Custom 500. What I like is it is super light weight. I also had to massage the center forehead area where I had a hot spot. Once I did that the helmet was very comfortable.

Licks Cycle has one of the smallest 3/4 helmets on the market. They are usually on backorder though.

Go to a shop, try on before purchasing, even the same helmet, can be different a little, one to the next. Good luck
