Yes. I use xmas light timers and set them to turn the device on for an hour or so each day.

For 3.5 decades I have been connecting my collector cars and motorcycles to battery tenders during winter storage. They are connected all day, every day for up to 6 months at a time and I have NEVER experienced a premature battery failure.

Choose to believe it or not Scotty, makes no difference at all to me.
Amen, I got 10 years out of a battery in my diesel tractor, kept it on a old technology Deltran tender when sitting for long periods of time. Always get great service life out of my motorcycle batteries. My dad replaced a perfectly good 12 year old battery in his summer play car, which at one point sat for 2 years without being run, all time on an old tech Deltran tender.

Why even post this at all?
You can't accept that other people may have an opinion or experience that doesn't match yours?
I for one will not change the way I use my Battery Tender Jr. If the bike is parked in the garage it's plugged into the Battery Tender. Still using the original battery that came with my Harley. According to your post my battery should've died 2 years ago.
The jap bike I owned for 15 years before the Harley needed a new battery every year after winter storage, for the first 7 years I owned it (not using a battery tender). In 2005 I purchased my first Battery Tender to use on that bikes newest battery. Used that tender the same way (if bike was parked in garage, it was plugged into the tender). Sold that bike in 2013 with the 8 year old battery still working great.
Stop bullying people.

I wish that there was MORE time in a day that I could leave my Tender connected!

03 Buell lightning original battery 7 years on battery tender junior. Got unplugged for a month, had to replace battery. New battery has been in it since 11 or 12 on battery tender, battery is healthy.

00 Softail replaced battery after I bought it in 10. New battery on battery tender Jr works great still.

Both touring bikes I've had have been on battery tender Jr when not being rode very often. Never an issue.

All my vehicles that don't get used often and are not on tender have had battery failures. Any battery I have that isn't on tender or brought inside over winter, the battery gives up the ghost. I'm no scientist, but in my experience 100% of my batteries that have been on battery tender Jr work and continue to work for years. My batteries that aren't, fail. That's enough evidence for me. Maybe Scott can tell us how much money we waste on electricity unnecessarily charging/maintaining our batteries too?

I will just keep rotating my HD Smartcharger thru my fleet. I leave it a couple of days on one, then move it to another with deltran 25' extension cords hung to each vehicle battery. Small digital Display mounted over the charger tapped into the charger leads show battery voltage when only plugged into battery, with 110 voltage also plugged into charger it shows charging voltage initially around 14 volts gradually dropping to 12.8 volts, and I can unplug the 110 volts, crank the bike, and monitor bike charging performance.
Hey, to each their own, what ever yanks their chain.
