I was looking for a seat that would move me back further than the stock. Tried the tallboy which moved me back but felt like sitting on a board. Tried the Hammock and that moved me back some and I think enough. The only thing is it raised me a little to which did not want. The seat is comfortable but my question is has anyone bought one of these and had some modifications done and was still pleased with it. I am considering getting this seat but would want about a half inch to an inch of foam removed from the top. By doing this will it compromise to much of the comfort.
You might consider re-anchoring the hammock part of the seat so it rides a little lower. Some of us are having the issue of it pulling out from it's anchor, and it definitely makes the seat ride lower.

I advise to use it more, you'll get used to it.
I don't know if the Hammock seat lends itself to being modified.

I had same experience,i test road HD's Hammock on my 09 flhtcu and found it to be very comfy vs stock HD seat and maybe even a bit more then the Mustang tooring seat currently on my bike too.
But unfortunately just like you it raised me up higher then i liked too.
It raised me just enough to have me on the tips of my toes causing a problem trying to move bike around in parking situation etc.
Since the Hammock seat has an " internal suspension system " that actually moves to reduce shock from bumps being transffered to the rider might not be able to be modified or lowered like you could with a non moving std type seat design.
But if anyone could do it C&C could so give them a call to see if they can mod the seat for you.
Here's a link to C&C & p-lease let us know if they think then can lower HD's Hammock seat for you.
I have a Hammock and modified it with no issues. Be advised though that you might not be able to get a whole inch out of it across the board. By that I mean if you take an entire inch out and don't replace it with some type of padding, it isn't going to be nearly as comfortable. Height wasn't my issue with the seat but I wanted to be back a little further. It really isn't that difficult but it does take planning, time, patience, and knowing what you want out of it. There are a few decent videos out there to give you an idea of how to go about getting started. The Hammock is also known for coming loose after a while. I posted pics of my fix when I found mine came free. You can see them here. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...at-owners.html
