I bought my 06 FLHT used, came with one button fob. I'm trying to set a manual code but something is not working here. The steps I've taken are:
Run switch off
Ignition on off on off on
Left signal twice
Fob button twice
Odometer reads all dashes, I assume it's ready to accept a code. Hit the left signal x amount of times, odometer digit changes accordingly. Problem is that I can't seem to move to the next digit. Right signal exits the programming mode. What's the secret? I've found lots of input on the pre 05 and the newer systems, but those instructions don't mesh with this scoot. Thanks!
I think, but could be wrong, your odometer showing all the dashes is requiring you to input the old code (either the Harley default, or a previous owners code) before allowing you to enter a new one.
Made some progress on this. As I figured the odometer not displaying digits meant that there was no code set. The trick to getting thru each digit is to double tap the fob button after entering the digit. I have confirmed that my new code is stored.
Now when I went back to test the disarm I fumbled again. Armed system via fob. Ignition switch to accessory, hold both signals correct? All that does for me is make the security light flash rapidly...

Once the security light starts flashing rapidly. that is the indication that you have to enter your code using the turn signal buttons.
Press the left button the correct amount of times to enter the first digit of your code and then press the right to confirm that digit as being entered and it will move you on to the next digit of the code. Once you've entered all 5 digits correctly, switch the ignition switch across from accessory to ignition and you should be good to go.
