If you have the spring loaded tensioners there will definitely be some resistance. I also have a '00 with 570 cams and did the the hydraulic tensioner upgrade and when the cams & cam plate are installed it had slight resistance. My cam lobes didn't hit the case, but you should double check, all installs don't go the same way.

The thing that concern me is the resistance is in just a certain spot in the rotation. Have checked all clearances and pretty much anything that I can think of and have come up empty.thanks again

I had to clearance the case on my 03 with a .575 lift cam - then again for .590. - defiantly check the clearance
The problem you are describing sounds like a gear drive too tight - but you are chain drive - so ?? Eastcoast Jim
Go to the search function, at the very top of the page where the down arrow is click on it, click "all", type in Hippo Build.
