I just bought an 07 EG standard and have heard a lot about them running lean and hot. I asked the dealer about a new map to richen it up a little and he told me that there is only one map for the stock engine. It doesn't make it richer it just shuts off the rear cylinder when at idle. I don't want that. I want it to run a little richer and cooler. Is there a map out there for a stock 07 to accomplish that?
Thanks in advance for any help.
i think your going to find that most are runningthe pcIII or fuel manager of some sort. the thing i think im going to do is go with a true dual pipe with a pcIII and that seems to be what most people are running with great results.
Higher Flow Air Filter such as Screamin Eagle A/C (SEAC or SE A/C) or Arlen Ness Big Sucker or K&N Fuel Management such as Power Commander III (PC-III) or Screamin Eagle Race Tuner (SERT) or Thundermax with auto-tune or DTT or Fuel Pack (such as Vance and Hines Fuel Pack) Exhaust Change (Optional but highly recommended) with either stock header pipes and different slip-ons or true dual pipes... even 2-into-1 pipes.
Stock mufflers are restricted to a degree so if you increase your fuel and air you will most likely get better performance by going with different mufflers.
If you want to take some of the lean out of the bike only then you could leave the stock pipes and mufflers and just do the Air filter and Fuel management.
To run a map you have to have a PCIII or = type of fuel managment system.
The PCIII is a small box with blinking lights on it. It plugs in between the motorcycles brain and the fuel injectors adding more fuel at the right RPM's and such.
