Like alot of you i'm planning on getting stage 1 download, s/e air filter and aftermarket slipons to improve the power and sound of the bike. This will probably be my limit because i want to retain the stock reliability of the bike.I know that the reflash is suppose toenrichen the fuel mixture, but is that all it does? How is this accomplished? Also i read about the plugins from nightrider that are suppose to enrichen the mixture, should these be used together?I'd appreciate you guys educating me on this.
The way that it works is HD puts a bike with SEparts on a dyno an makes a fuel map for that set upand saves it. They make map with all sorts of differnt set ups and saves the maps. The reflash that you are going to do is just an updated fuel map. The reflash tells the ECM to run a different fuel map with newbandwidthor pules width modulations in the fule injection. It dose this in certian RPM ranges to richen the fuel mixtureso that you can get a desired air to fuel ratio.Guys like Trotter will tell you that it will not do much and they are right for the most part.HD is trying to meet EPA standards so they make the map fairly lean. It will not help the preformance much like Trotter saysbut what he may not have gotten at isthat your motor from the factory is setup lean to begin with and if youdo your mods and dont do the re-flash it will make itway to lean. Check out the numbers he recomened above.
The street legal Mufflers (80492-07) and the SE High Flow A/C ( 29773-02c) ... The only way we do it is to Install the SERT Software, and Tune the bike with the new pipes and A/C all at once Other wise we turn them away.. I did order some of Night Riders parts to test on a bike to see how they work... Only the Dyno will tell.. I'll run it twice and post the Sheets..So people can make there own decisions on them... I did the same thing with the Fuel Pak.... I'll stick with my SERT
