I have a 07 wide glide with stage 1 air cleaner and Rinehart 2 into 2 staggered exhaust. I have a power vision tuner. When it is just me on the bike it runs great and pulls hard. No pinging at all. When the wife rides with me it will starting pinging as soon as I pass 60 kpa map. Will stop when it goes over 80 kpa map or below 60 kpa map. Mostly above 2500 rpm. My question is. Do I add fuel in that area or pull timing or both? Thanks.
The only way to truly know is to sample the air fuel. Odds are that it's fuel related if all you've done is add an air filter and exhaust and you're working off the factory map.
That is unless you and your cheerleader are very heavy and it's just too much load.

It is not the factory map. The wife and I together might be 300 lbs. I don't think it's that. I can see in the logs I made where it is pulling timing. Just not sure if I should add fuel or pull timing.
Without seeing logs I cannot bet the farm. My experience is often times it's fuel in situations such as this - would really feel it's fuel if the timing tables are similar to the factory map.
Also, is it consistent all the time tank after tank or just with the last tank of fuel.
What grade of fuel are you running? If you're not using the highest pump grade available, try some. Might help. ( Disclaimer - not trying to hi-jack thread to what gas grade you use.)

Look at the CLI front and rear in your logs for the MAP areas that you see timing being pulled and are hearing the pinging. If the CLI % is close to 100 in those areas, I would use the spark tables to subtract some timing in those MAP areas. I am guessing you are in the closed loop in those areas.

My CLI % is between 95 and 103. Is that good or bad?
