they are supposed to give you the break down of the financing in writing..this would explain everything you need to know about how much your financing...

Maybe they took the "LUBE" out of the deal to make it work for you. Just hacking on ya, congrats on the new ride.

The monthly payment target can be a great angle to use if you level the playing field first and get a baseline. You can't just go into a dealership and say "I want a bike and I can pay $300/month."

When I bought my RK I got a bottom dollar price from one dealer and then went to another dealer that had the same bike (plus ABS) and told them that I needed my payment to be at x amount, about $70-80 less than the first dealer. I knew what the bike had to cost at that payment amount. The salesman scrambled for about an hour and a half and worked the numbers down to my target. I ended up with a screaming deal that I'll probably never match again. It cut out all the negotiating and all the back and forth with big numbers.

Unless you are paying cash, there is no point in arguing for $300 off a $20,000 bike because the dealer will find a way to get that back later. Negotiating for a payment amount that you know results in a good deal makes them do all the work.

I have financed my last 4 bikes through my credit union. So when you can just write the dealer a check it certainly takes all the guess work out of the dealers creative financing tactics. Plus you know going in what you are approved for as well as what you want to spend. Makes it a whole lot simpler. And it usually takes about 15 minutes over the phone to get pre approved for the loan. My credit Union will also finance 120% of NADA Value.

When I traded in my 11 Ultra, they offered me $15,500, I went to buy a 2010 CVO streetglide that had been sitting there for 3 months. All stock,, 18k miles, sweet bike, owned by older gent, they took a down payment on it that morning, I asked about any others, but it was late 2014 and my local was completely out. I was standing there in front of this black RK, had a 2K give card attached to it. at $18K plus, I was interested. I was getting tired of listening to my stock radio with hog tune speakers trying to drown out the Rineharts. So I thought about it, and was like, hey, lighter, convertable, can add stereo in furture if I wanted. Went back and forth, and got $17,500 for mine, financed total of $2800 = $56 per month(my bike was paid for) and loved it ever since. I ride in the summer with no windshield, no lowers, no tourpac (unless traveling distance) Why am I telling you this? IDK,,, just incase you are tired of payments, you might consider a RK. I am going to keep this baby for a long time.

@buelligan666 it's not to me and I assume you either own, or have owned, a Buell... nothing fuglier then a Buell.

@J TOURS OP is NOT "butt hurt" LMAO. Just with the number of idiots on here, including yourself, that think you're amateur financial planners and/or amateur psychologist.

I make 6 figures annually, think I'll spend it how I like.
Done with you f'ing idiots.
For those that didn't try to incite or genuinely thought you were providing sound advice, this doesn't include you and I thank you. For those, for who this is intended and I suspect you know who you are, it's all about the delivery.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beer holder. Hahaha!!

I own 2 Buells yes. I own a 12 CVO RGC otherwise known as the "fugly" "shark nose" or one of the many other names the batwing guys have dubbed them. Enjoy your new ride. Spend it like it's your last days, can't take it with you!
