I have a new to me a 2010 limited that I feel is getting terrible gas milage at 33 mpg. How can I get better mpg? I ride mostly highways with my other bike ultra I get 46 or over 200 on a 5 gal tank and now I have a 6 gal and need fuel at 150
Slowing down to 55 from 75 mph will add 10 mpg. If you have one of those silly tuners on there, all bets are off.
And sorry, did not notice your first post. Welcome from Hampton Roads Virginia.
Add a signature line similar to mine on your bike on year model letters and mods for future reference.

as above a "mistune" will hurt mpg and an overly rich mixture will reduce performance and reduce service life.
retarded timing will also reduce mpg.
when a "tuner" is involved and someone's idea of "settings", the motor can be made to be lean under some conditions, rich under others, too retarded, too advanced...
can you list any mods to your bike?
in terms of punching a hole through the wind....for years i was riding regularly from PHX to LA- this gave me opportunity to measure consumption on my 1995 FLHTC, carbed evo.
typical MPG at speeds were:
45 @ 65
42 @ 70
38 @ 75
33 @ 80
28 @ 85
what this showed me is that by riding the speed limit (75 MPH for most of 165 miles in AZ, and 70 MPH for most of 230 miles in CA)- I had to stop for gas once.
if I rode at 80, I had to stop twice, and that would chew up any time gained.
Cruising at 70 MPH, My 96" 09 FLHTC got 44 MPG when bone stock- when I did a stage 1 and used XIEDS my mpg dropped to 43.
Currently I am messing around with V&H fuel pak- we are on the 5th set of parameters for this and while under certain conditions some performance aspect may be better- overall the xieds were better. I'm " 'sperimetin' "
10% ethanol fuels will usually reduce mpg by 3% to 5%,
the 80's/90's MTBE additives would reduce MPG by the same percentage as the MTBE...and give you cancer or nerve damage at the same time...
My riding Pal had a 2011 limited, 103 with hiflow intake and exhaust, no cat- and NO tuner. his mpg measured over thousands of miles riding together was same same as my 43 MPG at typical 65/70 on 2 lane roads

We need more information on your setup. Mods, has it been tuned?. Is it still stock?
When we add intake and exhaust, things get leaned out. That why we retune to richen it up. But if its tune too rich in the light load/ cruising area of your Air to Fuel ratio chart then that will kill your MPG while cruising down the interstate.
I asked my tech to tune 'em as rich as possible, yet still sensible. Mileage went down for sure. Run cooler in summer though. Plus a bit more old school smell coming from the back...
I agree, need more info on the 103, Stage 1 AC? New to you, did they put in cams? Which Rinehart exhaust, is it true duals or a 2/1/2? A bad tuner setting based on setup could result in poor mpg.
