I intentionally read all of your post before looking at the pictures thinking to myself this is going to be one butt ugly bike. But I like it!!! I like it more without the fairing but you surely have something different there. Good job. The picture without it (fairing) looks way cool IMO.

So I wanted something different for a windshield, and my buddy had a badass idea to make it out of aluminum, and another one of my buddies had some JDM fender washers in gold left over from using the same on his Laminar lip on his dyna 1/4 fairing. I also added fork boots from a 49mm front end that we had left over. Couple of zip ties and you can't even tell they don't belong there (like everything else on my bike).

hey Matt, first gotta say what an amazing build. Actually peaked my interest to possibly do the same on my road king. Always wondered whats the clearance inside. Anyway you can snap a driver seat picture to see the clearance between the forks, bars and fairing? Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, the bike got tagged by a truck while it was parked and I do not have the fairing on anymore. The clearance is a weird one. You're going to have to have to cut the opening out more on the bottom of the fairing since you will be running a 41mm front end vs a 39mm. And the fairing will have to sit further forward than on a dyna or fxr because of the width of the front end while turning. In the last picture, you will notice some exposed neck from the front of the tank to the rear of the fairing. I basically tack welded the bracket in place where I thought was good, and then checked it by turning the steering full lock. Then just keep guessing and checking. You will also need to remove the bushings on the fork tubes to create clearance. Its a b****, but worth it in the end. If you find yourself in a rut, DM rustyshackleford19 on instagram and ask for me. I'll give you my contact information.
