Seems my motor has a developed a serious piston slap. Bike is in Phoenix currently and I'm looking for a fair, competent builder to put a new top end on and tune it. I've talked with Stick's Engineering in Apache Junction so far. Anyone have experience with them? It's a 99 Road King Classic with EFI (old M&M system). I did a search but only getting very old threads.
I have not used for repairs, but this shop has been going for over 20 years, I buy some parts there- the owner Ron also races cars and has an automotive speed shop nearby

Towed the bike back to Montana last weekend after riding over to see Short Block Charlie. He didn't think it was the motor and had me talk with Desert Custom Cycles in Mesa. Bill Jr and Charlie thought the compensatory nut might have backed off. Bill worked on that but it didn't stop the rattling. He did say "the clutch basket has significant wear, clutch pack beginning to show wear, clutch hub bearing or mainshaft bearing questionable" Compression was 185 both cylinders, Scoped pistons and cylinders looked good.
Now to my question, could a worn clutch assembly be the cause of my rattling. Noise happens between 2200 and 2800 under light load. Bike has 135k on her with nothing ever having been done to clutch assembly. I don't mind putting some more money in her if its repairable as I had thought I'd just keep this old girl. It rides fine, just makes a rattling sounds at slow speeds around town that drives me crazy.
