yes...do not waste your money...the fit is terrible...they force you about an inch forward...no matter how you adjust them the bottom sticks out way past the lumbar support.

Yes, the seat must be removed. The backrest slides down the channel in the seat, then is attached with a 1/4-20 bolt or screw. Takes about 90 seconds on my '97 because there is no tour pack.
