Does switching from 12" to 13" rear shocks require the drive belt to be readjusted?
Some say it does, I say it doesn't and that is from 3 FL's that I have extensive miles on them with shocks swapped up or down 1". I am running my 11 RK with 12" hand hand adjustable right now, belt adjustment was not needed. The actual change in the ride rise/lower is only about 5/8" with a 1 " shock change.
Does switching from 12" to 13" rear shocks require the drive belt to be readjusted?
Whenever I've changed things such as shocks I back off the belt. Does it NEED to be adjusted? The least you should do is to check belt tension and adjust if necessary.
My 05 RK custom came with 12's from the factory.
If you are buying shocks to improve the ride, then buy 13's.
I have progressive 444 13.5" on the bike now.
Sorry, I can't give a ride report, I just did the Progressives over the winter.
The 13.5" required moving the mufflers a little bit, The 13" will bolt on without mods.
