I'll be going with a group Sat. I'm from Cedar Rapids and to answer some of your questions the weather channel is calling for isolated storms and wind, however in Iowa you can't predict the weather and they are often wrong so don't let that bother you.
As far as things to do, not much after all this is Iowa. However if your going to be at J&P run the short distance totown and see the motorcyle museum in Anamosa, you will be impressed. The J&P open house is good and it keeps getting better and bigger every year.
The wife and I made the decision to head down there early Saturday morning. Unfortunately we're taking our cage instead of my bike. I got anew health issue thatcame up an if something happens to meda wifewon't be able to get home in a timely manner so its the cage for us.[:@]
Its hell gettin old but we'll see you all there around noon or so...

Is there a web page of hotels for Cedar Rapids or is there a nice, reasonable priced hotel you would suggest on the east side of town???
Try the Holiday Inn at 1230 Collins Road - that is where I'm hanging my hat Sat night. 1-319-294-8551. $109 nite.
East side of town and I'm told it is only 20 minutes from Anamosa - looks clean/new.
Leaving Appleton between 6 and 7 am - hope to be there no later than 1:00.

Thanks for the info Dave but the wife is a cheapskate and won't pay that kind of money to just lay our head for one night. I'm searching for a Red Roof Inn or the like...There has got to be a $60 per night hotel in the area someplace.
