Stereo or not?
Fairing or not?
The Street Glide is the least expensive bike that comes stock with a stereo and a fairing.
The Street Glide and the Street Glide Special are in the $20,000+ price range.
The Road King is the next bike down in what I'd call the TOURING line and it comes with NO stereo, NO fairing bit it does come with a detachable windshield and saddlebags.
The Heritage Softail is in the CRUISER line which is lighter and more nimble than the TOURING line and it may ride a bit more firm and it comes with NO stereo but like the Road King it comes with a detachable windshield and saddlebags,
The Road King and the Heritage are below the $20,000 price range.
I will tell you what I tell everyone... decide what you like and then RENT EACH ONE FOR A DAY because those 10 miles escorted demo rides aren't enough to really formulate an opinion.. often what you pay for the rental they will deduct from the cost of the new bike if you decide to buy one from them
I would not buy a brand new one. You can save $4-7K on a Bagger that is 3 - 5 years old with low mileage. Some may still have the factory warranty that can be transferred to you. The Road Glide is the best touring H-D with the fixed fairing, it may not look as cool as the Street Glide, so it depends if you want to do a lot of touring, or just looking to do short trips .... And if that is the case, you can do a Road King too, all great bikes.
