Wife and I don't ride with headsets...we use the "tap on my shoulder method" which goes something like this:
1. she taps me on the shoulder
2. I acknowledge the tap and turn my head slightly
3. she attempts to say something
4. I motion I can't hear what she's saying
5. she gives up and the silence is "golden"!.....ride on.....
