I have called the retailer a second time. I talked to a different customer service rep. I got a whole different story and customer experience. I was told they were sending me a prepaid return label and the account was noted to check tire date before sending. He apologized and said sometimes they get by us.

Was it DennisKirk? I ordered new tires from them last year and they pulled the same stnt. Sent me tires that were manufactured 5 years ago, they tried to get me to pay part of the shipping back. I'll never buy another thing from them

That's odd to hear. I have ordered 8 pr of tires from DK. Dunlops, Avons, Bridgestones. Metz 888's, Commander II's, never received a tire over 6 months old. Received a pair of Avons for my 11 RK yesterday, dated 4216 & 3816. Dennis is Kirk and Jake Wilson, both have been top notch and fresh tires.

Well I was not trying to put anyone on blast. The retailer I bought from has a stellar reputation. I was disappointed after my first call. My second call was 100% different. They are bending over backwards to make this right. Thank you Jake Wilson.
Today Fed Ex delivered my replacement tire. I was excited to open it up and check the date code. The date code is 1114 So instead of a 4 year old tire I was sent a 3 year old tire.
Thats one of the issues you have to deal with when buying from sellers who price tires at near dealer cost. In order to sell at those prices they have to buy in large bulk, doing that often leaves them with certain tires that can easily reach 3+ years before it gets to the customer. For me personally I see the date before paying

Lesson learned. Even when I was assured that it was a fluke and the next tire would make me happy. I will not deal with Jake Wilson again.
