I picked up a 2006 FLHT a couple of weeks ago and started adding a few things to it. I bought the matching comfort stitch rider and passenger backrest. I put on the 4 channel luggage rack. The passenger backrest sure looks small to me on the bike. It is only 12 inches wide and just doesn't look right.
I know the last FLHT I owned had the pillow seat and the matching backrest on it was 14 inches wide. I know this because I still have the T-bag that I used with it.
So my question is since that don't make a large (14 inch) comfort stitch backrest, is there another Harley backrest that would look ok with the 2005/2006 comfort stitch seat pattern?
I have the comfort stitch adjustable rider backrest on my 04 Ultra it's perfect for me. I don't know if you are asking about the rider or passenger backrest. If you need more options for a backrest pad, then check www.jpcycles.com or www.wallyscycleworld.com for some other options. www.mandmcycles.com is also a great place for awesome prices on genuine harley davidson parts and accessories.
Harold:
I don't think there is a "large" size backrest for your application....But , what you can do is pick up a used backrest from a Road King (nice and big) on ebay. Take it to a local seat maker and have it covered to matck your comfort stitch seat. The whole deal will probably cost the same as if you bought a new one from HD.

Baddog
That is the backrest I was looking at. It's probably close enough for me.
